There is a grove of cherry blossom trees at the Flushing Meadow Park directly under the shadow of the Worlds Fair observation towers and the Tent of Tomorrow.
You can see the trees from the Grand Central Parkway. I take this road often to visit my mother so I see the trees in all four seasons. Of course they are the most lovely when they bloom.
Sure, you can go to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens which hosts an annual Cherry Blossom festival, but if you want a quiet moment among beautiful blossoms without the maddening crowds, this is the place for you.
Next time you’re making the mad dash through the Grand Central, take a quick side trip into the park and enjoy these beauties.
